Jin Roh Concept Bike

Image
As I mentioned in the previous article I've been doing some projects for the master degree I am currently studying.  One of those projects was to design a bike using SolidWorks, Rhino and Grasshopper. We had total freedom with the condition of try to use the software we didn't known previously. In my case, I had previous experience using SolidWorks so I decided to learn the other two, which are very different. Then we made some renders and a short animation using keyshot, which I didn't used before also.

Animation and presentation of a product

The last months I've been a bit busy doing some projects for the master degree I am studying. One of those projects consisted in made a video presentation of a product. The product I chose is the Steam Controller, a PC controller made by Valve. I made animations and renders using Autodesk 3ds Max and Vray. Then, I did the video montage with Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. This is the final result: As I mentioned before, from a model that I downloaded from the internet. I had to assign materials to the different pieces. Since most of the pieces were plastic, I only modified the glossiness, reflection and refraction parameters to achieve the desired effect. 3ds max material interface. Then I made an studio scenario using a plane as a background and some lights. And by animating the controller and different cameras I obtained some sequences that later I used in premiere. Scene in 3ds max. In Adobe After Effects I did some text and effects animations that accompanied the v...

Exercices in Catia V5

Image
Last summer I took an online Catia V5 course at https://formacad.es/ . In this course I learned the Sketcher, Part Design, Generative Shape Design, Assembly, Drafting and Generative Sheetmetal Design modules. Here are some exercises I did during the course: For the two assemblies shown I already had the components made so I just had to put them together. But below I show some other pieces that I have made during the course. I hope this entry serves to show my current level of Catia V5, but I'm willing to learn more. Thanks for taking the time to watching it.

Steam Engine in Solidworks

This is a project I made during my Mechanical Engineering Degree. In this case, the teacher gave us the blueprints of differents steam engines designed by JP Duval which you can download in the following link:  http://jpduval.free.fr Following these blueprints I modeled the parts in Solidworks and then assembled them. I also applied different materials to the components but without an specific objective, just to modify the appearance and be able to add a list of materials to the exploded plane. This is the final result:
